A little of the Summer Village of Point Alison’s History…

In 1904 the first registered owner of the property on what is now called Point Alison was Catherine Boucher. She soon sold the property in 1905 to Joseph Gariepy and the land remained in the Gariepy family until 1918 when it was sold to Joseph Lambert. Joseph Lambert sold the property to Wilfred Gariepy who resold the property again one year later to Arnold Johnson, James Johnson, Russell Johnson and George Archibald. The land was owned jointly for eleven years until George Archibald became the sole owner in 1932.

George Archibald then proceeded to subdivide the land in 1934. Prospect Drive was the name given to the access road which ran behind each property.  George’s wife was named Alison hence the name Point Alison.
